NME Awards 2013: Johnny Marr και Ronnie Wood μαζί στη σκηνή (video)

Ένα  θρυλικό τραγούδι για τους Βρετανούς, το ’How Soon Is Now?’ ερμήνευσαν μαζί επί σκηνής δυο βιρτουόζοι της κιθάρας.  Ο Ronnie Wood των Rolling Stones και ο Johnny Marr  των Smiths. Aφορμή ήταν η βράβευση του τελευταίου από το περιοδικό ΝΜΕ ως Godlike Genius, διάκριση για την συνολική προσφορά του στη μουσική βιομηχανία.

Στην απονομή των NME Awards στο Troxy του Λονδίνου,  ο Johnny Marr έπαιξε έξι τραγούδια. Ένα εξ αυτών ήταν το ‘How Soon Is Now’, μαζί με τον 65χρονο κιθαρίστα των Stones και τον νεότερο Justin Young  των Vaccines.
Ως γνωστόν, ο Marr, 49 ετών, κυκλοφόρησε πριν από λίγες ημέρες το ντεμπούτο σόλο άλμπουμ του, ’The Messenger‘.  Kι όλα αυτά, τη  στιγμή που ο Morrissey δείχνει να είναι στο καναβάτσο, ασθενής και καταβεβλημένος…

Για την ιστορία, το ‘Ηοw Soon Is Now?‘ ήταν το 1984 απλά ένα b-side για τους Smiths. ΄Ενα χρόνο μετά κυκλοφόρησε επίσημα ως single και σήμερα έφτασε να θεωρειται ένα από τα κορυφαία κιθαριστικά τραγούδια όλων των εποχών…
